Swagbucks Tips and Tricks: Swag Codes

One of my favorite ways to earn points (and points equal money) online is through Swagbucks. See my other posts on earning points through Swagbucks searches and through Swagbucks surveys. And this post will tell you how Swagbucks Swag Codes work.

What Is Swagbucks?

Swagbucks is a system whereby you earn points through internet searches, watching videos, playing games, taking surveys, and shopping. Points can be redeemed for gift cards to shops, restaurants, and even hotels and air travel. Using Swagbucks is completely free.

If you decide to sign up for Swagbucks, please use the link in this paragraph. I will then be able to earn a percentage of the Swagbucks you earn at no cost or effort on your part. And thank you if you do!

Swag Codes

A Swag Code is a short phrase that, when copied and pasted into a box on your computer or your phone, earns you a predetermined number of Swagbucks, usually between 2 and 8. Each Swag Code is valid for only a specified period of time, usually 2 hours.

Swagbucks releases Swag Codes once, twice, or multiple times a day. One or two Swag Codes per day is typical. Multiple Swag Codes are released on special Swagbucks holidays called Swagbucks Extravaganzas that occur approximately once a month.

How Am I Notified That a Swag Code Is in Play?

One way you would know that a Swagbucks Swag Code is in play would be through a notification in the upper right-hand corner of your screen IF YOU ARE USING THE SWAGBUCKS SEARCH ENGINE.

The type is a little small to read, but it says:

Swag Code Alert!

Click on the link below to find the Swag Code.

The way I prefer to be notified about a Swag Code is directly through a text message. To sign up for notifications, search for Swag Code Spoiler. When you call up Swag Code Spoiler, if no code is active, you’ll see a screen like the following:

Click on the link to subscribe to Swag Code notifications

The text message I get looks like this:

The Swag Code Spoiler will look like the picture below when a code is live. Note that the expiration time is clear.

What Will the Swag Code Look Like?

Sometimes the Swag Code is a recognizable word combination like BeautyNow that appears directly on the Swag Code Spoiler screen. But usually you are told to “Click Here To Get A Code” and are directed to a separate screen like the one below. You must enter the code exactly as it appears with no extra spaces before, after, or in between characters. The code is case sensitive.

This Swag Code says QVCEasyPaytPrgzM2. SwagButton is in upper-right corner.

Where Do I Enter the Swag Code?

On Your Computer

You have two options of where to enter the Swag Code. You may only enter it one of the two places and get credit once. On your computer, once you sign up for Swagbucks, you’ll be prompted to download the SwagButton. Jump down a section to read what this button will do for you.

Once you download the SwagButton, the small blue circle with the Swagbucks symbol will appear in the upper-right corner of your screen. Copy the Swag Code, and then click on the SwagButton. Up comes a screen that prompts you to enter your code.

Hit enter after the code, and make sure you get the congratulations message, as circled in the below screenshot:

On Your Phone

On your phone, you’ll need to download the Swagbucks app. When you click on it, you’ll see a screen like the following:

Click on the circle to enter the code.

Benefits of the SwagButton

The SwagButton is meant as a tool to earn you Swagbucks points when you shop. When you search for a store with a Swagbucks partnership, which is all but the smallest of shops, a pop-up will notify you of the number of Swagbucks per dollar you will earn by purchasing from this store. The pop-up looks like this one:

When you click on the purple box that says “Get 4% Cash Back,” you’ll automatically earn Swagbucks when you make a purchase from this store. More on shopping with Swagbucks in a different post.

Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. This means if you click on the link and sign up for Swagbucks, I will receive referral points at no extra cost to you. All opinions remain my own.
