What could be a more perfect way to decorate your home for Christmas than with bows!
Christmas Bows Inside the House
If you have a staircase of any size, bows are the perfect decoration. You don’t even need a sweeping staircase like you see in the movies. My staircase has two steps leading to a landing, so it’s the perfect spot for 3 bows. Eight-inch bows are a good size for this use.
Bows on Your Pictures and Paintings
Pictures and paintings aren’t normally going to be packed away when Christmas comes, so decorate them with a pretty bow in the corner. Below, a painting by Darrell Bush gets a Christmas upgrade. Ten-inch bows would be a good size for a painting.
And a never-coming-down graduation picture also gets a festive update for the season.
Make a Christmas Display
Our bookshelf usually holds little more than an antenna and a miscellaneous picture on top (it used to be a picture of our cat), so it is the perfect spot for festivity during the Christmas season. This display has some green trees and picks from my decoration collection, along with a couple pretty candles (ones I don’t burn). A string of lights and a bow in the corner completes the display.
Decorate the Shelves
A Christmas photo from a past year is accompanied by a silver bow tied around long cinnamon sticks.
And another shelf gets an identical batch of cinnamon sticks tied with a shiny silver bow, this time accompanied by a green and red pick. Check these three options for silver metallic ribbon: one, two, and three.
Christmas Bows Outside the House
Don’t forget to decorate your home for Christmas with bows on the outside also. Get creative on finding places to hang them. But first, whip up a batch of cream cheese party dip since you’re working so hard on your decorating!
The bow below hangs in a tree that lines the driveway.
Find a way to add bows to your front door! These two bows are hung from outdoor lights on either side of the entrance. Find large, 26-inch long bows here. Or if a 16-inch-long bow suits you better, find it here.
Christmas Bows on the Christmas Tree
Of course the Christmas tree itself is the perfect spot for festive red bows. Amazon sells a pack of 12 that are the ideal size for the tree.

Just beautiful!! I love the bow with the cinnamon sticks. What a great idea! Thanks for the tips and recipes. Had the spicy corn casserole for Thanksgiving. It is now one of our holiday staples:)
Thanks so much, Chris! And I’m glad you love the spicy corn casserole too. Merry Christmas!
